I am back to blogging sorry i havent been writing that much it is beacuse I was busy with school work and tests.How have you guys been ?

I am sure you missed me ,I just wanted to let you know I will go back to blogging since summer is almost here . I am so excited that during my summer break i will be able to blog again.

I want to tell you about the craft that I have been working on last week in my free time.

On January 11,2013 I headed over to 360 Mall with my sis Jacqui and my cousins. We went to  to Toys R Us. While my cousins were picking out their toys I went hunting for something crafty that I could enjoy working on in my free time.

I ended up buying a Inkoos Doll. For those of you who haven’t  heard  of  Inkoos Doll, well they are these plush toys that you design and decorate any way you like. Then if you feel like you want to redecorate  your doll you can toss it in the washing machine and it will come out clean like you just bought it!

You can find out more about the Inkoos Dolls from their website www.inkoos.com and you can buy them from Toys R Us in 360 Mall and probably some other toy stores as well.

This week in school we are learning about Spanish explorers and every one of us got to choose an explorer. The explorer I chose is Hernando Cortes.

In case you didn’t hear about Hernando Cortes,  I will use this post to show you the poster that I made and share some information about this Spanish explorer.

Died: December 2,1547

Age: About 61-62 years old

Nationality: Castilian

Occupation: Conquistador,explorer

Clothes

Hernando Cortes wore a shiny armor. He also carried a gun and he had a horse to ride. If  you wonder why he wore a shiny armor, well it is to protect him while he is fighting  the Aztecs.

Food

Hernando Cortes ate salted pork and cassava bread. Why these foods? Beacuse these types of foods are dry and do not spoil quickly and make good travel food.

Reasons for  Exploring

Hernando Cortes started exploring beacuse he was inspired by other explorers like Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci. Spain sent Hernando to find gold and land on his first day.

Transportation

Hernando Cortes rode a ship on his exploration. On the boat were over  500 soliders that were  there to help Hernando Cortes on his journey .

I am back with a very exciting post! I am here to tell you about how to make a mini tornado in a plastic bottle.

Here are the things that you will need:

• a clear plastic bottle with a cap (that won’t leak)
• water
• glitter
• some dish washing liquid

Here are the steps for how to make the tornado:

Step 1: The first instruction is fill the plastic bottle  with water until it reaches around three quarters full. By the way for this step  you just take a regular plastic water bottle that already  has water in it. You can just take a sip from the bottle until it reaches 3/4 of the bottle.

Step 2: Next add a few drops of dish washing liquid.

Step 3:  Then sprinkle in a few pinches of glitter.

After wards put the cap on lightly.  Now turn the bottle upside down and hold it by the neck. Quickly spin the bottle in a circular motion for a few seconds then stop and look inside to see if you can see a mini tornado forming.

By the way this experiments is for 6 year olds and above. Now that’s how you make a mini tornado in a plastic bottle of water.

Did you know that if you 40 ml in 2 cups that they would be balanced? If you somehow happen to put a lid on one of these cups they will not be equal at all. This is because the cup with no lid’s  water  evaporated into the atmosphere. Evaporation is when water changes state from liquid to gas so it looks like it disappeared but it’s still in the atmosphere.

Here are the steps of how water evaporates. First, the energy from the sun heats up the water. Second, the heat causes the water in the ocean to  evaporate from a liquid to a vapor into the clouds.  Third, the water condenses into the clouds. After that it precipitates which means it turns back into liquid state and that is when it starts to rain. Finally the  water goes back into the ground.

Learning about evaporation at school helped me to understand how it rains. I am surprised that you don’t need a lot of wind to make rain because I used to think that you needed to have wind for it to rain. But sometimes when it does storm there is a lot of wind.

I hope you guys learned something new with me today.

Some of the good things that happened to me were celebrating my birthday in February and traveling with my mom to Dubai in April. Also, my sister N came back for a month in August during Ramadan. My sister F also came back from studying in the USA in September. I felt happy to see my sisters because I haven’t seen them for a long time. Then I started 5th grade in September and I started putting some goals for myself. I set some school goals this year which were to do better in math class and to eat more healthy. I have been working hard on both of these goals.

Some of the not so good things that happened to me this year were school problems that I had to deal with but in the end things were okay.

I wish that 2013 makes most of my wishes come true. I hope to continue to be healthy and stop junk food. I also wish to cook more with my sister and to do some exercise  I also wish that everyone in my family is always healthy. I hope to blog more in 2013 also because I want to improve my writing skills and post some interesting information for you guys.

I have decided to post about my favorite things. This means that I will write about some of my favorite things like the products I use and wear. I will review these things so that it can give you a better idea of them.

My first favorite things post will be reviewing a product called Ugg slippers.

Ugg Dakota slipper

The slipper has lots of fur inside. It is made from real lamb fur, surprising huh? The origin of Uggs are from Australia but this product was made in Vietnam. I know because I found this information in the box that my shoes came in.  On the Ugg website the slippers cost $100. They have many sizes and colors. One thing I like about these slippers is that they fit perfectly. I like to use my slippers during the winter because they are so warm and cozy to walk  in. It feels like I am walking on snow.

I recommend these slippers  because they are so comfortable to walk in. Your toes won’t hurt you, I guarantee it. I always feel relaxed wearing them. I recommend them because I have a pair of these slippers and the color I have is Pewter which is like a gray color in the picture above.

So if you are thinking about buying some new winter shoes, I recommend buying the Ugg Dakota slipper.

I am sorry I didn’t  write for a while because I was too busy with school. This year I was busy with school because  5th grade is hard work. We have a lot of homework’s and tests. Some of the things I like doing are science projects. I have also been working hard in math. We  learned fractions, partial quotients, and division.

Now I am on winter vacation and I have more time to write on the blog. I have more time to spend with my family and friends. I had a sleepover party this week with my cousins. We had a coloring book that my sister made for us  full of crafting projects like decorating a xmas tree, snowman, and other things.

Afterwards my aunt invited us to a tea party up stairs. We had hot chocolate instead of tea and some chocolate cupcakes. Later on we did manicures and pedicures. At night we made movie tickets and some play money for our snack bar so we could buy snacks for our movie night. It was so much fun selling our snacks. I got to be the cashier!

Today I decided to make new goals for the new year  especially with blogging. I want to have a schedule for writing on my blog and studying for school at the same time.  So, how many times per week do you guys and girls want me to post?
